P. Potkin's workshop

About the maker and their creative work.

P. Potkin's workshop

Pavel Potkin is a maker of Altai komuses from Gorno-Altaysk. He began working in the workshop of his elder brother, Vladimir Potkin. In an account published in 2009, Vladimir described Pavel as his “right-hand man”: Pavel and another employee carried out the mechanical and manual processing of the instruments, while Vladimir handled the final operations, tuning, machinery setup and process development. Drawing on this production experience, Pavel developed his own komus model and put it into production in 2002.
