Musical Instruments Workshop

Tsendee is a Mongolian musician and maker of metal khel khuurs based in Ulaanbaatar. He works in steel and brass, paying particular attention to the shape of the frame: alongside simple rounded and triangular outlines, his instruments include decorative compositions featuring a star, a peace sign and traditional symbols.

The catalogue archive preserves his aman khuurs from the early 2010s. Photographs published later retain the maker’s characteristic interest in expressive silhouettes, while showing heavier constructions and more elaborate decoration.
