Aysien Dyachkovsky

Aisien Dyachkovsky

Aisien Nikolayevich Dyachkovsky is a Yakut khomus maker from the village of Kutana in Suntarsky District. He learned the craft from Roman Ilyich Gotovtsev. Dyachkovsky’s works are held in museum collections; in 2022, they were included in the “Yakutsk — Mecca of the Khomus” exhibition, organised as part of the Third International “Khomus Virtuoso of the World” Competition.

Dyachkovsky combines the classical Yakut form with experimental construction details, including an unusual inner cross-section of the decks and a ledge for the teeth. The khomus featured in the catalogue had a balanced sound, high responsiveness and stable mechanics at different playing speeds.
