Alexander Borodin

About the maker and their creative work.

Alexander Borodin

Alexander Borodin is a jaw harp maker from Domodedovo in the Moscow Region. He continually refines his designs, paying close attention to workmanship, sound and ergonomics.

Alongside his production models, Borodin has created one-off jaw harps with overlays, relief engraving and colour anodising. He has also experimented with laser-cut components and three-point mounting.

The maker’s later works represented in the catalogue vary considerably in size and register: from the relatively compact “Kashirka” to the large bass “Ruza”, with its soft sound and long decay.
