"Lo" Dan Moi

The lower-pitched version of the thin lamellate dan moi. It suits unhurried playing and has a crackling, dense, full-bodied timbre. Fast alternating strokes are less comfortable.

Thin Vietnamese dan moi are exceptionally easy to play, with a clean, colorful and loud sound. Their high sensitivity makes even a slight movement of the mouth or throat produce a clearly audible change. This helps beginners learn more effectively and gives experienced players freedom to explore without having to concentrate on controlling the instrument itself.
