This model of jaw harp Ellyasin Zakhar Kharitonovich fully corresponds to the popular image of the instrument for shamanism esoteric practices, meeting the three most necessary conditions for such application: "Real Yakut khomus", "Low Sound" and "Cladding with brushes".
The main physical feature of the chomus is its sound: with the usual average basic tone, the instrument is completely devoid of high-frequency components, the gap between the frame arms and the reed is quite large - this creates the illusion of low sound. At the same time, the size, elasticity and weight of the reed allows you to comfortably control the initial overtones with articulation means, usually working with high instruments. As a result, we have a small dynamic range, but many tonal shades. Pleasant and playable, melodic khomus, despite the "deafness". It will simply be treated by beginners, and lovers of magical vibrations will not find a better candidate for the role of an inseparable companion. We do not recommend it as the first jaw harp.
A similar jaw harp, only with a "real" low basic tone and a wide spectrum, Mondharp Baldr.
