Sergei Verteletskiy
Sergey Yuryevich Verteletsky is a musical instrument maker from Luhansk, born in 1977. In addition to jaw harps, he makes traditional wind instruments from several cultures, including kavals, kurais, whistles, fluers, and overtone flutes. His work also includes string instruments such as topshurs and morin khuurs.
Verteletsky’s jaw harp appeared in the Oberton Pro catalogue in 2012. Its construction was inspired by Hungarian dorombs, combining a massive frame with a light, flexible reed. This design produced a loud, moderately rich sound and high responsiveness.
