Khatskevich's "Small" Vargan

The instrument is almost without exterior decoration to reduce the cost, in many ways similar to the standard Khatskevich jaw harps, but the range of parameters in this option is much wider, and the sound quality is at the level of Altai komus. The reeds rustle loudly on stroke - in this regard, the jaw harp is among the record holders. Of the usual features, the most characteristic are the following: tonality, above average; small size, hard reeds, convenient for two-sided strokes. The timbre is minimally layered, buzzing; the voice is piercing; the dynamic range is not the widest, but quite sufficient for playing with the mandatory use of strong strokes.
