A characteristic feature of Ivan Pavlovich's homuses is a shift to medium-low frequencies and a soft, enveloping sound, against which breathing techniques are strongly distinguished. The timbre is quite pure and, although it does not contain the highest, piercing, constituents, allows for the use of many tonal gradients. Reminiscent of Vietnamese cast jaw harps.
