Lacewood

Licewood (Cardwellia spp.) grows in the northern part of Australia and has a timber pinkish or reddish-brown color, with age darkening to brown. Sometimes there is a golden luster of wood, but the clearest sign of the rock is the large core rays, which form a well-marked silky pattern of fibers. Licewood wood is straight-layered, except for those areas where the fibers circle the radial rays. The texture is large, uniform. The density of wood is 580 kg / m3 in the dry state.
