French jews harp with a tongue of moderate stiffness and a sound of medium tonalities. The timbre is smoothed, soft, pale; when you strike from yourself, you notice a weak sound. The volume (piercing) is not high. Mechanically, the guimbarde feels comfortable and behaves quite obediently at any strikes. Outwards reed moving producing inharmonics.
