Norwegian Munnharpes

Norway is among the few countries with preserved and supported Jew's harp musical playing tradition. And, although that hobby isn't massively popular, there is a sufficient number of players and manufacturers. There are no professional craftsmen among the latter, regardless of the instrument quality, it’s a hobby and a pastime, not a product manufactured in mass. Craftsmen in most cases adhere to manufacturing traditions as well that mostly only have to do with external signs. The collective image of the Norwegian muunharpe follows these external signs in particular while the playing qualities of the instruments greatly vary from craftsman to craftsman.
