	n	About the International Jew’s Harp Congress &amp\; Festival\n\n\n\n	Th
	e jew’s harp is a small yet profound instrument\, made of metal or bambo
	o\, that produces its distinctive “byong” sound when played against 
	the mouth. In Ainu culture it is called the mukkuri and has been cherish
	ed for centuries.\n\n\n\n	Since its inception\, the International Jew’s 
	Harp Congress &amp\; Festival (IJHC/F) has been held nine times in countri
	es where the instrument has deep cultural roots. Every edition gathers per
	formers\, makers\, and researchers from across Asia\, Europe\, and beyond.
	 With concerts\, workshops\, outdoor performances\, and a global jew’s h
	arp marketplace\, the festival has become a vital meeting point for cultur
	al exchange and creativity.\n\n\n\n	Japan has long participated in the IJH
	C/F through the Japan Jew’s Harp Association and the Akan Jew’s Harp A
	ssociation. Their dream of one day hosting the event is now being realized
	 with the 10th Congress &amp\; Festival in Hokkaido—a unique opportunity
	 to celebrate the jew’s harp’s global voice and to showcase the living
